Trump’s trip delayed after emergency slide deploys on new Air Force One

President Trump’s trip to Texas was delayed when an inflatable emergency slide on the new Air Force One, a gift from Qatar, unexpectedly deployed on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews. The incident occurred as Trump was preparing to board the plane for the RNC’s Midterm Convention in Dallas. Workers removed the slide, and the old Air Force One was brought in as a backup. Trump assured reporters there was no security concern, explaining that the slide was being checked to ensure it functioned properly. The new Air Force One, introduced earlier this summer, has been intermittently used while undergoing security upgrades. Trump plans to use the new jet for an upcoming trip to Ireland. QUESTION: How might the reliability of presidential transportation impact public perception of national security?
