Cole Campbell is the latest American soccer star making waves in Europe and he credits his mom

Cole Campbell, a rising American soccer star in Germany, has been making headlines with his impressive performances for Bundesliga team Elversberg. His mother, Rakel Karvelsson, a former professional player in the U.S. and Iceland, has been instrumental in his development, often training with him. Campbell joined Elversberg after a stint at Borussia Dortmund and quickly made an impact by scoring in a victory against Bayer Leverkusen. Known for his fearless style, Campbell fits well with Elversberg’s ethos of playing brave soccer. Campbell initially played for Iceland’s Under-17 team but switched to represent the U.S. in 2024, committing his future to the American team.
