Argentina beats Bolivia 4-0 in first match since Messi’s international retirement

Argentina triumphed over Bolivia with a 4–0 victory in their first match since Lionel Messi announced his international retirement. The game, held in Córdoba, saw Lautaro Martínez score the opening goal in the 19th minute, followed by Nicolás Paz in the 29th. Cristian Romero added another in the 54th minute, and José Manuel “Flaco” López completed the scoring in the 86th. This win was a positive start for Argentina after their World Cup final loss to Spain. Although Messi retired from international play last month, he will wear the No. 10 jersey one last time in a farewell match against Benin in Buenos Aires. Messi, who played 207 games and scored 125 goals for Argentina, leaves a significant legacy. In his absence, Cristian Romero captained the team. Before Messi’s farewell, Argentina will play another friendly against Burkina Faso. QUESTION: How might Lionel Messi’s retirement from international soccer impact the future of Argentina’s national team?
