Four astronauts return to Earth after eight months in space

Four astronauts returned to Earth after an eight-month mission on the International Space Station, where they replaced a crew that included an ailing member. The team, consisting of NASA’s Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, France’s Sophie Adenot, and Russia’s Andrey Fedyaev, splashed down in the Pacific Ocean near Los Angeles. Their return was delayed due to capsule repairs, but they were eager to reunite with their families. During their mission, they participated in spacewalks, celebrated the U.S. 250th birthday, and engaged in fun activities like dance parties and cooking demonstrations. Hathaway maintained a distinctive mustache in space, honoring his Navy ties. The space station continues to host astronauts from various countries, with seven currently aboard. QUESTION: How might the experiences and challenges faced by astronauts during long missions in space influence future space exploration and international collaboration?
