Horrified witnesses recount fatal rollercoaster incident at Six Flags

A tragic incident occurred at Six Flags Over Georgia, resulting in the death of Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, and injuries to other riders on a rollercoaster. The Cobb County Police Department is investigating the accident, which happened on the Goliath rollercoaster, as confirmed by aerial footage showing the ride halted with workers assisting passengers. Witnesses reported seeing Kariem ejected from his seat, striking the rollercoaster and other riders before falling onto a nearby attraction. The park has temporarily closed nine rides across the US and Canada as a precaution. Six Flags expressed condolences to Kariem’s family and is cooperating with local authorities on the investigation. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with some riders in shock and others covered in blood. The park and local officials are working together to understand the circumstances of the incident. QUESTION: How might this incident influence safety measures and public perception of amusement park rides in the future?
