The Trump administration warns Ukraine it could cut off intel, Zelenskyy tells NPR

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with NPR about tensions with the Trump administration over Ukraine’s drone strikes on Russian oil refineries. The U.S. warned it might stop sharing intelligence if these strikes continue. Zelenskyy criticized Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian diesel, arguing it won’t lower fuel prices, which he attributes to the Iran conflict and the Strait of Hormuz blockade. As the Russia-Ukraine war nears five years, Trump suggested Ukraine needs a new leader to make peace with Russia, and claimed a partial ceasefire was agreed upon, surprising Kyiv. Zelenskyy insists Ukraine will continue targeting Russian energy sites unless Russia stops its attacks. Despite tensions, Trump stated the U.S. is still sharing intelligence with Ukraine. High fuel prices remain a concern in the U.S. as elections approach. QUESTION: How might the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia impact global energy prices and international relations in the future?
