Justice Dept. report accuses Biden-era DOJ of uneven enforcement of FACE Act law

The Justice Department released a report accusing the Biden administration of misusing the FACE Act to target anti-abortion activists. This report, the first from the Weaponization Working Group, claims that the Justice Department under former Attorney General Merrick Garland unfairly applied the law, which was originally passed in 1994 to protect women at reproductive health clinics, by focusing only on those supporting abortion rights. The report alleges that the Justice Department collaborated with pro-abortion rights groups, withheld evidence, and discriminated against jurors based on religion. It also criticizes the National Task Force on Violence Against Reproductive Health Care Providers for being too close to abortion rights groups. The release of the report was preceded by the firing of four federal prosecutors involved in FACE Act cases, including Sanjay Patel, who was accused of monitoring pro-life activists. These actions are seen by some as political retribution against those who worked on cases opposed by the Trump administration. QUESTION: How might the perceived politicization of legal actions impact public trust in the justice system?
