Trump says U.S. military strike killed leader of Tren de Aragua gang

President Donald Trump announced that a U.S. strike killed Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, leader of the Tren de Aragua gang, labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. Guerrero Flores faced charges of racketeering and supporting terrorism. The strike, which occurred in Venezuela, was part of Trump’s efforts to combat narco-terrorism. The U.S. had offered a $5 million reward for Guerrero Flores’ capture. Trump emphasized that under his leadership, the U.S. would continue to target such criminals. The operation highlighted U.S. and Venezuelan cooperation against drug-related violence. Trump’s administration has conducted multiple strikes against drug smugglers, resulting in over 200 deaths. Despite claims of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s involvement with the gang, a U.S. intelligence assessment contradicted this. QUESTION: How might the actions taken by the U.S. against the Tren de Aragua gang influence international relations and perceptions of American foreign policy?
