Trump’s fixation on voting has had mixed results. He still has ways to affect November’s elections

President Donald Trump has been trying to change U.S. election rules, but he has faced many setbacks. The Supreme Court recently ruled against his efforts to reject late-arriving mail ballots, and his attempts to pass laws that would restrict voting have stalled. Despite some success in getting Republican states to redraw district lines, his broader efforts to reshape election rules have mostly failed. Trump claims that the 2020 election was rigged and is pushing for changes he believes will prevent fraud, although evidence shows such fraud is rare. His actions have sparked concerns about voter suppression, especially as the midterm elections approach. The Constitution gives states and Congress control over elections, limiting the president’s power in this area. QUESTION: How might changes to voting laws impact young voters in future elections?
